1. Why should I have a website?
Your website will enable you to:
- Connect – Provide interactivity so that both the church members and visitors can get instant information.
- Outreach - Reach people who are looking for a church, ministry or are in need of support.
- Inform – People need information. They need to know when, where, how, what and why. Your website will provide everything a prospective visitor to make a decision to get involved.
2. Why should I choose UK Churches to create my website?

3. I have decided I want a website. What do I do now?
Simply click on this link and complete the form. The username and password you selected, plus a login link, will be sent to you automatically so that you can get going.
4. What if I would like additional information?
We often provide information for the boards of churches and ministries and have compiled a UKC Brochure which can be downloaded from the link to your right Need a brochure to present to your team?‘

5. Which package is right for me?
Every single site we design goes through exactly the same design and development process. This ensures that that there is no difference in attention to design detail.
The package you choose must be based on the functionality you need to make your site a worthwhile investment.

6. E-mail
We can set up email addresses that send all mail to another email address – this is great if you’ve already got your personal email set up and don’t want the hassle of more accounts and settings.
If you already have email accounts set up on your existing domain that you want to use, you can let us know during our process and we can make the appropriate arrangements.
We can also provide webmail accounts so that you can access your mail and respond to related enquiries from your organisation email address which maintains a professional presence.
7. Domain Names and Transfers
We will register a domain name for you if you don’t already have one. Domains are usually bought for an initial 2 year period and can be renewed thereafter. We’ll also maintain it for the life of your site so you don’t have to worry about any complicated settings.
If you already have a domain name, we can arrange for the nameservers to be changed at no additional cost, which is the fastest way for you to benefit from our hosting platform.
NOTE: We can register only ONE domain name for you, or renew ONE domain name that you already own. We will not renew or register multiple domains.
8. Hosting and Support at UKC
Hosting is the space provided on the internet where your site can be viewed. Choosing a hosting provider can be technical and difficult. Fees are usually paid monthly or annually.
We design, build and maintain your site, your site hosting is also included.
This alleviates the stress of finding another service provider to host your site and provides you with hosting and technical support built in.
Ultimately this will save you time and money.

9. Can I have video on my site?
Video can be added to YouTube or a Vimeo account and then embedded into a page in your blog. For more information on how to do this, please see the following links…

10. Can I have Flash animation or a Flash introduction on my website?
We do not develop Flash animations. below are some of the reasons we don’t use Flash in our sites.
Flash introductions have the following benefits and limitations:
- They certainly add a one off buzz to first time visitors to your site
- Animation and music on websites have been found to be distracting and irritating to users.
- It may be impressive the first time your user sees it, but after that, it becomes annoying.
- The Flash player is available in many versions and not everyone has it or wants to download it to their computers. Popular Apple devices like iPhone and iPad don’t display Flash.
- Using it extensively slows down page loading time which is the principal reasons for people leaving a site
- Flash hinders search engines from finding and looking through the pages of your site which can impact your search results ranking in Google and other search engines extensively.
11. I need to send you some files. What is the best way to do that?
Due to the nature of the kinds of files we work with, email can quickly become clogged and troublesome for us to use. You can upload files to our dropbox using the file upload tool in our Admin Centre – just log in and click the Log a Support Request button – scroll down the page to use the file upload tool.
Alternatively, you can send us files from 3 MB up to 100 MB, using the free service www.yousendit.com to send the files. This allows us to download the files more conveniently.
